After hanging up his tie and swapping his Oxford shoes for hiking boots at the turn of the millennium, Chandan Lahiri, the founder of OutThere Adventurers decided to pursue his passion for travel and adventure. He believed in the famous saying by the great Chinese philosopher Confucius who said "Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life!" Thus began a journey that continues to this day, embodied in the passion statement of OutThere Adventurers: "Only those who risk going too far can possibly know how far they can go." And OutThere Adventurers has gone a fair distance in the past few years, leaving its treadmarks where few have gone before.

Here you will find brief details of some of the Expeditions conducted by OutThere Adventurers in the past, starting from the first major Expedition undertaken, a 38-day, 12,000km journey motorbiking across the country. Team OutThere already covets two world records and more are on the anvil. Our history is being constantly written.

You could also ask us to design a custom expedition for you and your friends.

In association with ActionAid, a UK based NGO, three OutThere Adventurers motorbiked across the length and breadth of India trying to sensitise people towards a more tolerant and secular India. Moreover, the Expedition also activated the masses and raised funds to help rehabilitate the homeless of Gujarat.

A diverse group of ten rookie adventurers undertook a 14-day expedition to Ladakh. This was one hell of a ride and every person with an interest in the wild world out there should make it a mission to do it at least once in their lifetime.

It so happens that three of the world's highest passes lie along one single stretch of road. No one had ever tried to cross all the three passes in a single day. Chandan Lahiri did so and earned his first world record after this effort.

Unseasonal snowfall, avalanches, landslides conspired to ensure that this expedition was aborted in 2008 - the attempt at a Guinness World Record of the highest altitude reached by a motorcycle. Nevertheless the trip was a memorable one for the team. In 2009, Team OutThere is going back for a second attempt at the record.
