The Cliff Riders team comprising Burgess
Cooper, Chandan Lahiri and Sarosh Cooper was ably supported by the
members of the larger team. Manu Srivastava of Sports Motto who was
instrumental in making sure the bike were customised as desired,
Kanishk Nayyar provided the technical support delving into years of
experience in managing the Yamaha Racng Team, Ashok Kumar, the mechanic
who accompanied the expedition team and was singularly responsible for
each nut and bolt, Shams Tanweer the producer of the documentary for
want of a better and more holistic description and Rehan Khan the
cameraman who tirelessly captured footage during the journey which was
very tough at times. Without these five people, The Cliff Riders would
not have even reached where they eventually did.
On Sep 12, 2008, exchange4media.com organised a sports marketing forum at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi where The Cliff Riders were presented an Indian tricolour by Raja Randhir Singh of the Indian Olympic Association that was to be unfurled once the team reached the target altitude and broke the Guinness World Record. Here is a video of the presentation.
Despite all the troubles, misfortunes, hiccups and the eventual abortion of the expedition, we did manage to take some pictures. Here are a few samples that will give you another perspective of the road to Leh and the fun we endd up having despite the frustrations at not being able to complete what we set out to do.
